Nagasaki is located at the west end of Japan. It comprises of more than 600 islands with rich nature along the coastline.

Being the nearest part in Japan to Korean Peninsula, China mainland and South East Asian countries, Nagasaki was the only door to outsiders when Japan was isolated from the rest of the world during Sakoku period. As a result, now the life in Nagasaki, its local food and township are largely influenced by European and Chinese culture.

Apart from Unzen, the countrys first National Park, Shimabara Peninsula is also a reservoir of hot springs. With beautiful sunset at Kuju-ku-shima Islands and the countrys largest theme park, Huis Ten Bosch, Nagasaki definitely has a lot for you to see. Walk, see, touch and feel the charm of Nagasaki.

Hino Dakejiro (later Hirado Castle) was built by Shigenobu from the 26th generation of Matsura family (Keicho Era year, 1599) in Kameoka. However, the good relationship between Matsura family and Toyotomi Hideyoshi has rised Tokugawa Ieyasu suspicions towards them. To discharge the all the doubts, Shigenobu had burnt Hino Dakejiro and protected the 61700 stones of Hirado. The family of Matsura then lived in "Otate" residence for 90years until permission was granted by the shogunate government to rebuild Hirado Castle. The reconstruction works started in 1704 and completed in 1718.This castle was designed by Yamaga Soko (a Japanese philosopher and strategist during Tokugawa shogunate), rarely found at other places in the country. The castle was deserted in 1871 and later restored by Hirado city authorities in 1962.
