Regarding Purchases

Q

Where can I purchase tickets?

A

You can purchase tickets at the bus operator's counter, on your smartphone (via Linktivity), or at designated travel agencies.

Q

I don't know where the Bus ticket counter is.

A

Bus ticket counters are located in Kyushu’s seven prefectures (Fukuoka, Saga, Nagasaki, Kumamoto, Oita, Miyazaki and Kagoshima) and Shimonoseki (Yamaguchi).

Q

Do you accept credit cards and electronic money?

A

Credit cards are accepted, but electronic money is not.

Q

Are there any rates for children or people with disabilities?

A

There are no fares for children or persons with disabilities.
Please note that depending on the route and number of trips, the total fare may be cheaper if you use the child fare or disability discount fare for the route you are using each time, rather than using the SUNQ Pass.

(Child fares apply to children between the ages of 6 and 12 who are still in elementary school. However, if an infant rides an Expressway Bus and occupies a seat, the child fare will be charged.)

Regarding the use of buses

How does it work when getting on and off the bus?

A

For local buses and expressway buses that do not require reservations, please present your SUNQ PASS to the driver when alighting, for expressway buses that require reservations, present it to the driver when boarding.

Please also note that if you wish to board an expressway bus that required reservation, you will need to make a reservation and get a seat reservation ticket in advance.

Do I need to take a numbered ticket?

A

Yes, local buses and some expressway buses are equipped with “number ticket dispenser”.
Please take a numbered ticket when using the relevant bus.

Can I use the SUNQ PASS for the Kyushu Odan Bus?

A

Northern Kyushu and ALL Kyushu SUNQ PASS can be used on Kyushu Odan Bus.
After making a reservation, please complete the procedure at the ticket counter in advance, as the limited availability of seats.

Q

What if I go to Miyazaki or Kagoshima where the Northern Kyushu Pass does not apply?

A

Please note that you will be charged the regular “one-way fare” of the route.

Q

What happens to my SUNQ PASS (paper ticket) after use? Can I have it?

A

Yes, we do not collect them. You can take it home as a souvenir of your sightseeing/travel.

SUNQ PASSES that have expired cannot be used. If you use an invalid SUNQ PASS, you will be charged an additional fee regardless of the reason, please do not use it at all.

Refunds and Losses

What happens if I lose it in the middle of use?

A

We cannot reissue a pass that has been lost by the customer.
Please keep it in a safe place before and during use.

Can I get a refund for my SUNQ PASS?

A

If you purchased a digital pass on a travel agency website:
Refunds are available up until 6:00 p.m. on the day before your intended use. If it is after the intended date of use but within three months of the purchase date and the pass is unused, please contact the travel agency from which you made the purchase.

If you purchased a digital pass on the SUNQ Pass website:
Refunds are available up until 6:00 p.m. on the day before your intended use. If it is after the intended date of use but within three months of the purchase date and the pass is unused, please contact us via the email address below.

If you purchased a paper pass:
Refunds are available up until the day prior to the date from which the pass can be used.

Important reminder for all pass types:
Please note that, even if your planned route is suspended due to abnormal weather or other reasons, there will be no refunds, no extensions to the period of use, and no transfer to alternative transportation.
In the case of refunds for reasons specific to the customer, a refund fee of 110 yen (tax included) will be charged.

The bus is late OR the bus is not coming…

A

Buses may be delayed due to traffic jam or weather conditions.
Please give yourself plenty of time to travel.

Q

My bus was cancelled due to bad weather. Can I get a refund?

A

Once you have started using your pass, refunds will not be possible even if service is suspended due to bad weather.If you have not yet started using your pass, you can get a refund in the following ways.
